Tetrahydrofuran is an organic compound with the molecular formula (CH2)4O, it is colorless liquid and is easily miscible with water. This liquid is low viscosity liquid at low temperatures and pressure. The compound is heterocyclic. It is mainly used as precursor for polymers. It has a similar odor as of diethyl ether but it is much less anaesthesic as compared to its sister chemical diethyl ether.
